‘Darkchild’ Producer Launches Music Writing Camp – Music Connection Magazine

Multi-Grammy award-winning record producer, rapper and songwriter Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins seeks to share his gift of writing with young people around the world.

Darkchild will launch a campaign to find 10 students to participate in an exclusive writing camp, organized by him and his team.

Opportunity: Darkchild seeks to give back and help find and develop incredible, undiscovered young talent. He has pledged to find and select 10 proteges through his campaign. The release of their work will potentially be showcased to top A-list artists to consider for their own recordings. The protege will cover a $500 grant for travel, hotel, etc. Must be responsible for own travel and accommodation.

Selection: Darkchild will select their top 10 favorite submissions at their own discretion to participate in a 2-day in-studio writing camp. This will be the first camp he organizes with previously unknown talents, which he considers an important access opportunity for young producers and artists.

Candidates can submit a 60-second audition video via its Protected page. Each submission will receive a personalized commentary video from Darkchild.

Rodney Jerkins has collaborated with a wide range of popular artists including Whitney Houston, Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, Destiny’s Child, Brandy, Michael Jackson, and more.
